These MANGOES, which are certified organic (organic certification since August 2015), come from Senegal and are grown in an 8-hectare orchard established in 2006 in the village of Pout, deep in the bush.
Varieties of Pout mangoes:
- The Baguinda is wild, with a slender, elongated shape. When ripe, its flesh is orange, fibrous, and very sweet. It has an almost spicy flavor—and, above all, a unique one.
- The wild Smith variety is quite tart; its flesh is not very fibrous, and when perfectly ripe, it is sweet and has a slight hint of coconut. It has a distinctive shape with a slight point at the end opposite the stem.
- The Kent is not a wild variety; it is therefore a hybrid. It has firm flesh, and its color ranges from light yellow to bright orange. Juicy, sweet, and seedless, it is the most resilient variety and therefore the one most frequently exported to Europe.
